How It Works
Online or In-Person Tutoring
Tutoring can be done by Zoom, which is free and easy to set up. In-person tutoring is also available at my home office. There are advantages to each, and each student is different. With online tutoring, you can make dinner, work out, or relax while your child is being tutored. With in-person tutoring, I can offer more multisensory activities.
Meets Students at Their Level
Each tutoring relationship begins with a conversation about your child and their strengths and needs, then some assessment to gauge their current level.
If appropriate, I'll communicate with your child's teacher to gather more information. Every tutoring session will be individually tailored to your your child.
I pride myself on meeting students where they are and building on that.
Encouragement and Support
Students who struggle to achieve at school soon lose interest and stop trying. After all, if you don't believe you will succeed, why would you keep giving your full effort? Intervention is crucial to keeps students engaged before they give up. Improving self-esteem and providing ongoing support is a key part of the process.
Our daughter struggled with asking questions when she did not understand for fear of what her class mates would think or her teacher thinking she didn't understand because she was not paying attention. Robin was the perfect one on one learning solution.

Different Approaches for Different Learners
Every student is unique and their instruction should reflect that. I use lots of different techniques, such as multisensory activities and games. This increases student engagement and suits a variety of learning styles.
Our daughter has become more confident and is eager to learn more because she understands now. She is in grade 8 now and her grades have improved immensely. She asks questions in class and is very involved with group interactions. I am 100% positive that this was all a result of having a tutor work with her 2 days a week through the school year and all through summer months. We can't thank Robin enough for helping our daughter flourish and shine with her learning abilities.
